Larnaka and Hermes Airports welcomed the passengers of the new routes of Ukraine International from Kievo and easyJet’s from Milan as well as the journalists who travelled to Cyprus to cover the commencement of the new routes. The welcoming ceremony included the exhibition of traditional Cypriot professions. The travelling passengers had the opportunity to enjoy during the event live traditional Cypriot music and traditional Cypriot sweets. |

The Managing Authority of the Cross-border Cooperation Program Greece-Cyprus and the Planning Bureau of the Republic of Cyprus celebrated the European Cooperation Day with a symbolic Graffiti event in the presence and participation of children and teenagers, as well as the famous Greek band MELISSES. The GRAFFITI-panels will remain at Larnaka International Airport until the end of December 2012. Hermes Airports was a supporter of this event. |

Larnaka International Airport hosts two art exhibitions within the framework of the Cypriot Presidency of the E.U. Council. The first exhibition, entitled "From Arrival to Departure", is organized in collaboration with the Laiki Bank Cultural Centre and features interactive art works. The works, created by six artists from Cyprus, Greece and Malta, encourage interaction with the viewer, creating both pleasant emotions and a state of reflection, thus enriching the experience of passengers in the bustling airport area. The second exhibition, entitled "Where Europe meets the Mediterranean", is organized in cooperation with the Friends of Fine Arts Association and features sculptures by a total of 16 artists from 10 European countries: France, Italy, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Spain, Romania, Portugal, Germany, Greece and Cyprus. |

On Saturday 17th March for the third consecutive year, Larnaka International Airport and Hermes Airports hosted the Bridge Tournament, which since 1995 has been marked as an Olympic game by the Olympic Committee. Representatives from Hermes Airports visited the School for Children with Special Needs "Theoskepasti" in Pafos to offer children books which were collected by the staff of Hermes Airports. The Principal of the school received the books with great pleasure and the children of the school expressed their warm gratitude towards Hermes Airports. Hermes Airports' initiative takes place within the framework of actions in memory of young Isabelle van der Meer who lost her life in the spring of 2011 due to a serious health related incident. The Van der Meer family has prepared a website dedicated in remembrance of little Isabelle www.bubblesforisabelle.com on which one can find photos and information form the various events taking place in order to aid children in need. |
