Larnaka and Hermes Airports welcomed the passengers of the new routes of Ukraine International  from Kievo and easyJet’s from Milan as well as the journalists who travelled to Cyprus to cover the commencement of the new routes. The welcoming ceremony included the exhibition of traditional Cypriot professions. The travelling passengers had the opportunity to enjoy during the event live traditional Cypriot music and traditional Cypriot sweets.

Within the framework of our strong relationship with the communities and schools nearby the airport, the Chief Executive Officer of Hermes Airports Mr. Craig Richmond submits a sponsorship to the Parent Teacher Associations of Meneou-Dromolaxia, Kiti and Pervolia villages as well as the District Gymnasium of Kiti for the financial support of the students of the schools.

The Managing Authority of the Cross-border Cooperation Program Greece-Cyprus and the Planning Bureau of the Republic of Cyprus celebrated the European Cooperation Day with a symbolic Graffiti event in the presence and participation of children and teenagers, as well as the famous Greek band MELISSES. The GRAFFITI-panels will remain at Larnaka International Airport until the end of December 2012. Hermes Airports was a supporter of this event.

Larnaka International Airport continues the promotion of the Cypriot art and culture, this time by accommodating the art works of the local artists of Larnaka. The exhibition is hosted in the Departures area of the Airport (Level 2) and it is open for the public.

Within the framework of our relationship with the town of Larnaka, the Executive Marketing Manager of Hermes Airports Mr. Ken Hassard submits a sponsorship to the Director of the Larnaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr Giorgos Psaras, for the financial support of the events planned for World Tourism Day on September 27th 2012.

Larnaka International Airport hosts two art exhibitions within the framework of the Cypriot Presidency of the E.U. Council. The first exhibition, entitled "From Arrival to Departure", is organized in collaboration with the Laiki Bank Cultural Centre and features interactive art works. The works, created by six artists from Cyprus, Greece and Malta, encourage interaction with the viewer, creating both pleasant emotions and a state of reflection, thus enriching the experience of passengers in the bustling airport area. The second exhibition, entitled "Where Europe meets the Mediterranean", is organized in cooperation with the Friends of Fine Arts Association and features sculptures by a total of 16 artists from 10 European countries: France, Italy, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Spain, Romania, Portugal, Germany, Greece and Cyprus.

Within the framework of our relationship with the communities and schools nearby the airport, the Chief Financial Officer of Hermes Airports Mr. Panikos Papadakis submits a sponsorship to the president of the Parent Teacher Association of Kiti District Secondary School Mr Nicos Petrou, for the financial support of the school.

Within the framework of its close relationship with the Media Representatives, Hermes Airports Ltd organized a dinner for the Journalists at a traditional Cypriot tavern in Larnaka.

With Cypriot music, dances and traditional 'mezedes', the local authorities of Pafos district , Cyprus Tourism Organisation and the management of Hermes Airports welcomed at Pafos International Airport Ryanair's first flights as well as the first tourists whom the low cost airline transported to Cyprus. As of this April, Ryanair connects Pafos with 15 European destinations.

On Saturday 17th March for the third consecutive year, Larnaka International Airport and Hermes Airports hosted the Bridge Tournament, which since 1995 has been marked as an Olympic game by the Olympic Committee. Hermes Airports' initiative takes place within the framework of actions in memory of young Isabelle van der Meer who lost her life in the spring of 2011 due to a serious health related incident.
